Cluster 3 lent a hand last week in a wildlife area at Seaton Sluice Middle School. The wildlife area, which is used by teachers to help give students a better appreciation of biodiversity and helps with science projects, was in need of some TLC so the Readymix Team rustled up 7 volunteers and got stuck in for the day.
They enjoyed the graft happy in the knowledge that they had helped the school improve the area – this was much appreciated by staff on site.
The improvements included rebuilt footpaths, spruced up bug hotels, new bird boxes and bird feeding station, a new toad pond, planting out wild flower seeds and building Hedgehog homes.
A big thanks to all the Team – Michael Larmouth, Kevin Russell, Ian Dixon, Paul Brown, Brian Goldsmith, Steve Simm and Heather for getting the fish and chips.
