On 21st June Rugby Plant hosted a visit from the European Cement Research Association (ECRA) which included an overview of CEMEX UK and Rugby Plant Cement Operations. The ECRA’s aim is to advance innovation in the cement industry and to communicate the latest knowledge and research findings in cement and concrete technology, and has a membership of over 40 leading cement producers worldwide.
The site tour encompassed visiting the Control Room, Preheater Tower, Cement Mills, Despatch, Packing Plant and Alternative Fuel areas in order to provide a good understanding of our facility. Some extremely positive feedback was received with comments such as: “A very impressive and unique facility”, “The area ownership boards and family safety posters are very good ideas”, “All people that we met were very knowledgeable and open”, “Very good housekeeping standards throughout the Plant”, “Very friendly welcome and knowledgeable tour guides” and “A highly interesting and informative site tour”.
