Mark Brightwell and Jodie Panter from the Aggregates Customer Service team recently spent two days in Norfolk area visiting CEMEX Quarries. Brian Beales from Flixton Quarry took them round the Plant and Quarry.
The visit provided a great insight into the quarrying procedure as they were shown current sites, sites being prepared for future use and previous sites that had been returned to their original condition. This proved to be very educational and showed the high levels of effort and forward planning that every Quarry has to go through. They also spent time in the weighbridge with Ruth Dale Vincent and discussed the day to day running of the weighbridge and any issues that occur on a regular basis. Brian also took them around Wangford Quarry where they spent time with David Hamer on the weighbridge. They discussed planning, weighbridge processes and any issues that occur. The following day was spent with Joanne Rhonda Beales to discuss current work load, haulage and future work. At Norton Quarry they met with Hannah Jackson on the weighbridge before Martin Sage showed them around the Quarry and explained the process from ground to finished material. These visits proved to be very beneficial for Mark and Jodie, building key relationships with others within CEMEX. They could see daily issues first hand, how the order fulfilment can impact the site, and indicated how important clear and detailed communication is between customer service and the weighbridge.
Jodie and Mark would like to thank: Elizabeth Dixon, for arranging the visits and also thank you to Brian Beales, Joanne Beales and Martin Sage for accommodating us, and Ruth Vincent, David Hamer and Hannah Jackson for their time and help during their visits.
