Improving Our IT Systems In CEMEX UK

There is positive news regarding updating of hardware and software across our business. We continue with the programme to replace PCs and Laptops when they are four years old and have replaced 20 devices this year. We’re also upgrading all our servers in the UK and have to date replaced 11 servers used for storing files and running local applications. We’ve also provided the new Intelex solution for managing our Health and Safety reporting – this is best-practice in our industry and is hopefully making it easier to upload and manage our information.

In addition, our aggregates business has benefited from new dedicated network equipment at 62 sites and data for internet, and Lotus is sent via a different connection. We’ve also increased the number of network connections at 50 sites and network switches at 11 Quarries, and introduced “Hana” on weighbridge screens to raise performance.
