Last year 13 of our sites reached the 100 species spotted mark for our ‘Species 100’ initiative. Cambusmore in Scotland was the most biodiverse site with Raynes quarry in North Wales the most improved.
We spotted rare flowers, butterflies, farmland birds, a Hen Harrier (Britain’s rarest raptor) and rare mammals such as Pine Martens and Red Squirrels. The reports are extremely useful for CEMEX and the RSPB to develop site action plans.
Sean Cassidy, Regional Environmental Manager, is launching the initiative again this year. He is asking us to list the species you see on site and put it in your site report. The simple wildlife log and instructions are in the download section of the UK News website or on Yammer: https://www.yammer.com/cemex.com/#/users/1675717869
