You may recall the incident back in February this year when 46 UK based CEMEX email accounts were disabled through an email phishing campaign. The effected accounts went on to automate the distribution of malicious emails to significant numbers of email addresses contained within the hacked accounts ‘contacts’ list.

Our Security Team received advice this morning that one of our supply partners, ALPHA SOLWAY, have fallen victim to a similar malicious campaign. Should you receive an email from an ALPHA SOLWAY account, please treat with the utmost caution. We are advised at this stage that the malicious email is blank in appearance but contains a PDF attachment which in turn contains the virus. Please DO NOT OPEN.

Should you receive an email of this nature, please delete the email without opening (from both your inbox and deleted items box) and advise the UK Security Team – Colin Jones and/or John Sweeting.
