Coronavirus Update

We continue to monitor the development of the Coronavirus in the UK. Currently there are 373 cases confirmed across the UK; 26,261 have been tested to date. Of these confirmed cases, the majority are in London (91), followed by the South East (51) and South West (41).

The level of risk in the UK is described as moderate. Today, the Foreign Office updated its advice to warn against all but essential travel to Italy.

Impact at CEMEX in UK

  • Currently, no CEMEX employee cases in the UK have been reported.

Our Local Rapid Response Team (RRT) will continue to be activated in our country, monitoring the outbreak and implement preventive measures to reduce the risks to the CEMEX community.

Travel Restrictions

  • Business travel restrictions and/or ban to AMEA region will continue.
  • Reviewing alternatives on non-essential traveling is highly recommended.
  • Any other travel restriction will be communicated by the Global RRT as needed.

We can all play a key role in helping our local teams to be alert for additional events or emergencies.

Personal Preventive Measures

  • Frequently wash your hands, cover your nose and mouth with the inside of your elbow when coughing or sneezing, and avoid contact with people who are visibly sick. Avoid, above all, touching your face.
