January’s Nominees Are….

Thank you yet again to our amazing colleagues who continue to go above and beyond their day jobs and have been nominated for a Thanks For Your Effort Award by you.  The nominees who all get a highly prized Thanks For Your Effort mug are:

Brian McRone – IHC in Bradford.  Who stepped in on a job when he noticed that contractors on site about to start laying the concrete were only wearing rigger boots with the tops taped up and no gloves.  Before he started tipping Brian went to see the Site Manager to get his ticket signed.  He gave him a flier about Cement burns explaining the dangers of wet concrete.  When Brian got back with the second load the Site Manager had got all his workers new wellies and gloves.  Well done Brian.

Denise Crook – PA in Egham office.  During a transition period in the CSR function Denise went over and above her day job to help Andlyn White sort out historic payments and transfer requests.  She was vital in making a lengthy and complicated process much easier for the new Manager and helping to protect our reputation amongst a lot of external community groups.

Josh Forzani – Relief Plant Manager, Materials South Coast, Readymix. Josh professionally and quickly made a forecourt of a petrol station safe after a spillage of Concrete, keeping the general public safe from harm.   He was called to attend to the spillage and had to act quickly and safely clear up the Concrete.  He also saved the company a lot of money by shovelling the Concrete into his van, making three trips back and forth to the nearest plant to dispose meaning we didn’t have to hire a road sweeper or larger team to clear the mess.

David Bennett – Wharf Fitter Operative, Northfleet Wharf.  David deserves a Thanks For Your Effort for always going the extra mile on site problem solving and refusing to give up on any problem!  He is always enthusiastic and leads by example on site.  He is praised by staff, customers and contractors alike.

Andrew Parkes – Operation Manager, Materials North Readymix.  After finishing a job for a customer late in the day when the team at Weeford plant had gone home.  Later that evening the customer called the Shipping Office to say that they needed another 1m3 to finish the job.  Andrew, unable to call back the team, showed leadership by remote dialing into the plant batching system from his home, one hour away.  He was in constant contact with the IHC ensuring that the truck was back at the plant and loaded in a safe manner.  The load was completed preventing the customer from removing and replacing any of the concrete.
