Early this year, we introduced Innovation as one of our company’s five Strategic Priorities. These priorities were defined to address the main opportunities and challenges we face as a company, and now, Innovation becomes even more relevant. It is still the right time to strengthen our Innovation efforts and take advantage of the newer challenges and opportunities that the pandemic has brought to our company and industry.

Last year, we launched our Smart Innovation Process to empower Innovation across our organisation, and we engaged and extended the process all over the company.  We attracted more than one thousand participants with creative proposals, and now we have more than 100 of these ideas being tested or deployed across the organisation. We will continue towards our second year, working as One CEMEX to boost employee participation in search of disruptive, transformative Innovation – not just in our core business, but across our industry’s value chain.

I ask all of you to continue to support our Smart Innovation Model and invite you to participate in the 2020 Global Idea Challenge, developing disruptive and transformational ideas to empower our business at all levels of the organisation.  You will soon receive more information of ideas currently being executed and the timeline for this year’s challenge.
