Another big ‘Thank You’ goes out to all of our teams for continuing to develop and implement their ideas that will help make CEMEX a safer place to work, with better quality and greater efficiency/effectiveness.

Our congratulations go out to Watford Readymix who narrowly took the top award this month!

The ideas for this month’s competition covered the following:

• Aston Readymix plant – Have completed a canteen refurb upgrade using easily installed plastic panels to cover the walls and celling which look great and make it easier to maintain COVID-19 protocols.

• Watford Readymix plant – Installed a very effective two-way camera system fitted with conversation function so that the Batcher can inform the cement tanker / aggregate tipper driver of the correct instructions instead of them walking across the yard.

• Leake quarry – Reduced ST&F hazards by removing steel plates trip hazards and concreting to an even finish.

• Salford Readymix plant – Site has installed a ‘Pro Series Scaffold Hoist’ to eliminate carrying admixtures up two flights of stairs which made it impossible to have three points of contact.
