The MPA and British Precast recently invited entries for their 2021 Health and Safety Awards.This is a competition we have excelled at in previous years, using it as an opportunity to gain recognition for our teams, while also sharing and learning from good practice across the industry.
There are some changes to the Awards Scheme this year, which are outlined in the download section of the UK News website here. In summary there are following eight Topic Awards:
- Safer production
- Safer maintenance and housekeeping
- Safer management of pedestrians and transport on-site
- Safer handling of inbound and outbound materials
- Safer transport and logistics
- Safer operations at a contracting, construction or customer site
- Safer through improvements in health and wellbeing
- Safer together
In addition, there are also opportunities to recognise Individuals and Young Leaders (under 30) via a short submission (two paragraphs), and also the UK Operations as a whole can compete for the John Crabbe Trophy; please note Peter Luxmore has kindly agreed to prepare the entry for this… thanks Peter!
Closing dates for submissions is 21st May, via the following email entries@mpabpawards.org.
There is no longer a limit on the number of entries we can submit and therefore we are dropping the pre-screening we used to do, but the Health & Safety team are on hand to help identify suitable award entries and provide advice in terms of the entries.
