A year ago the UK Concrete and Cement Industry Roadmap to Beyond Net Zero was launched, clearly demonstrating how the concrete and cement industry has already reduced CO2 by 53% since 1990 and showing how it will go beyond net zero by 2050; removing more CO2 from the atmosphere than it creates.
With COP26 taking place currently and climate issues more prominent, both globally and in the UK, the sustainability credentials of concrete and cement continue to face ever closer scrutiny, particularly in comparison with less resilient construction materials such as timber.
MPA UK Concrete has now produced a short guide to the Roadmap, entitled On the road to beyond net zero concrete which is specifically aimed at industry employees, but also for presentation to customers and suppliers.
