In our May edition of Earthly Matters, our blog dedicated to the partnership between CEMEX and the RSPB, we asked Quarry Managers to consider taking part in the #NoMowMay campaign by saying “no” to the mow during May. This helps our bees, butterflies, wildlife and us!
Colin Wilkins, Quarry Coordinator at Kensworth Quarry near Dunstable, took part in #NoMowMay – you can see the driveway in Coin’s photos, doesn’t it look wonderful!
In a recent butterfly count on the site, ten Dingy Skippers were recorded – this species is in decline and classed as a UK priority species so this is great news!
Well done Colin!
