A message from Lex Russell, Chair of the UK Health & Safety Committee

The first quarter of a new year historically sees an increase in incidents as production ramps up. I wanted to, therefore, take this opportunity to remind everyone of the vital importance of keeping Health & Safety our number one priority at all times.

We are approaching the anniversary of two fatalities in the business, the details of which can be found in the briefing at the end of this document. These tragic deaths were devastating for their family, friends and colleagues and undoubtedly that pain continues to this day.

Please use this briefing with your teams as a reminder that looking after yourselves and each other is the most important thing we do. There are inherent risks in our work so we must always follow the Safety Essentials and Driving Essentials, Take 5 to Stop & Think before starting a new task, and remember to Step In if we believe someone is putting themselves or others at risk.

Together we can ensure we remain safe and healthy, and return home to our families every day.
