This week Steve Coles, UK Operational Excellence Manager, completed the installation of a digital condition monitoring system called ‘HID’ on the new Alrewas Readymix plant, ready for it to start producing concrete in the coming weeks. The installation is part of a wider rollout of new preventive maintenance technologies to all our critical Readymix and Aggregates sites across West Europe Materials.

HID Condition Monitoring is a low-cost, wireless, remote monitoring system providing vibration and temperature data in real-time. Increased visibility into equipment performance using multiple data points allows us to monitor and react quickly to critical events.

Armed with valuable equipment data, we can improve the operational environment, protect and provide longevity to our brand-new assets and achieve better manufacturing efficiencies.
