Third Parties Occupying our Sites Without Permission

The Cemex UK Legal team have been working with our Estates and Security teams to repossess one of our sites as the company that took occupation more than ten years ago, refused to leave when asked to do so. Unfortunately, they were within their rights to remain in occupation because the correct form of lease was not put in place at the time.

The process has been long, time-consuming and expensive and we must ensure that it doesn’t happen again.  Additional risks and problems arise if the third party concerned deposits material in breach of environmental permits, as liability could lie with Cemex, even though we are not at fault.

Please ensure that Mark Cole or Indrani Hazra-Corte are contacted for advice before allowing a third party to occupy any of our sites even for a short-period.
