Brighton Goes Solar

Cemex’s Brighton Wharf has recently had 66 solar panels installed on the roofs of its main offices and weigh bridge (154 metres square).

This initiative is to harness solar energy for office use, providing an estimated £19,000 savings on solar panel lifetime use. This is part of Cemex’s long term strategy to decarbonise our operations.

During the first 18 days after installation the panels produced nearly 2Mwhs of energy, instead of taking energy from the grid. This equates to around 366kg of CO2 savings.

Many thanks go to the Engineering team, Operational Excellence and the site staff for their collaboration with UK Capex Procurement to help deliver this project.
