Dan Goes Back to School

Last week, Dan Mann from Cemex’s Public Affairs team, was invited to return to his old Runshaw Sixth Form college in Leyland. He spent time with the students and gave a presentation to the Social Sciences and Humanities students about studying politics at university, careers in politics and how young people can get involved in politics.

Dan was delighted with the student’s responses, bombarding him with questions at the Q&A following his presentation. They were keen to discuss many topics such as, the impact of artificial intelligence on careers in politics and its impact on job security, ethical lobbying and the implications of policy change, the range of career choices available to politics graduates, university module choices, and how to make connections to work in the political field.

Dan was very grateful to Runshaw College to be invited to give this alumni presentation, and has been invited back to meet with students again in 2024.
