For sound operational reasons many of our sites utilise combination padlocks and in some cases key safes. Recently, suspicious behaviour picked up on CCTV at one of our UK sites showed an intruder taking photos of the combination padlocked deployed on the site main gates. The intruder wore reflective PPE and carried out his act of hostile reconnaissance in broad daylight without any attempt to hide his actions.

Reminder to site staff: Where combination locks are in use, once the lock is opened, staff are advised not to leave the lock with the correct code engaged. Codes should also be changed on a regular basis to avoid compromise.
