New Swindon DSM Plant is Open for Business

Our new state-of-the-art facility in Swindon Wiltshire, dedicated to lower carbon dry mortar and sprayed Concrete production, is now open for business.

Our new Plant will enable Cemex UK’s Mortar business to increase production capacity in the South East and South West, and ensure it can offer nationwide supply of both Dry Mortar and Sprayed Concrete.

Following significant investment, the new Plant includes a state-of-the-art drying process which has been specially developed to reduce heat and significantly save fuel. Supplies into the new plant will be received in a dedicated under-cover storage area which will enable additional shelter and protection from wet weather conditions.

Lex Russell, Managing Director UK Materials, comments: “We have seen our Mortars business grow from strength to strength in recent years, with demand exceeding capacity for Dry Mortar and Sprayed Concrete at Dove Holes in Derbyshire and at our Dry Mortar plant in Braintree, Essex.”

“We’re therefore delighted that the opening of our new Wiltshire Plant will enable us to increase capacity and penetrate new regional markets, while expanding and better serving our existing customer base.”

Join Lex, Mike May and Andy Bright in this short video as they explain why this new Plant is strategically important for Cemex UK.
