The last two weeks in Hull have seen some fantastic branded products being produced for the first time in Cluster 7. With Clusters 7’s first production of PoroFoam for Cairn Cross Civils who needed a specific strength to fill a 18th Century basement in the heart of the city, and with the UK’s first shipment of CEMEX Advanced Design 45SF 40 for Manor Crest Developments to the new Hilton Hotel in Hull.
The CEMEX Advanced Design mix was created in partnership with ProPex and a full fiber solution was created in order to remove the need for any steel mesh in the hotel floor. The mix was created to include Steel Fibers, to be pumped, and to then be powerfloated.
Through the sale of the Advanced Design mix we have also cross sold into the Advanced Decking range with 265m3 of Advanced Decking to go into the hotel as well as working alongside ProPex to create a mix suitable for the Hotel floor in order to rectify a design fault in a slab is only 200mm deep and not 250mm. Through the partnership this has led to CEMEX becoming the national provider of concrete to Manor Crest and for our Advanced range to be the standard products used in the design of the future hotels.
