A Merchants Hub – Supporting the Builders of Britain

CEMEX UK recently launched its Merchants Hub.  This is a digital platform which provides a range of information about our bagged and cementitious products all in one place.  It is designed for our Sales teams and merchants so that all the information they need is at their fingertips.

With the onset of COVID-19 and subsequent lockdowns and social distancing restrictions it was evident there would be a long period of time where customers would not be able to welcome sales visits as frequently as in the past. This would limit engagement on product training and information for their teams to be able to sell our products onto their end-users. The Project team needed to enable our Sales teams with more digital tools and content to present virtually and more professionally.

The team involved in setting up the hub were the UK Marketing team: Paul Bradshaw, James Barnett and Selina Kalyan, along with Graeme Barton from the Cement Commercial team.

Selina commented: “The challenge was to create a resource area that was not visible to the general public domain but something the Sales team could use online and on video calls with customers, but also use to share files and content remotely and quickly.”

The solution was our new Merchants Hub; a digital resource area built within existing CEMEX website framework, but not open to access for general searches or public find. It features new content created for the Sales team to use and share with customers including presentations, videos, FAQs, bag images, technical data and product fact sheets. Initially the prototype was developed in UK and then shared and developed with the team in Poland. It has potential for other countries to use this too now, which is very exciting.”
