Cemex Supports Landmark Sustainable Development in London

Cemex is playing an important role in the redevelopment of 65 Crutched Friars in the City of London, supplying a high-quality lower carbon concrete solution for the landmark 20-storey scheme.

The development is targeting a BREEAM Outstanding rating, placing a strong emphasis on reducing embodied carbon while meeting demanding structural requirements. Cemex has supplied 13,000m³ of lower carbon concrete, including approximately 1,000m³ for slipform operations, with the project marking Cemex’s first high-profile use of CEM II/A-L on a major City of London development.

The completed scheme will provide 782 purpose-built student rooms, alongside green spaces and a permanent new home for London’s Migration Museum.

Working closely with McAleer & Rushe, Consarc Architects project partners, Cemex has combined innovative lower carbon materials, technical expertise and dependable delivery to help support the project’s ambitious sustainability goals.

A great example of how collaboration and lower carbon solutions can help build a more sustainable future in our cities.
