Slipforming is not only for London or Cardiff! Cluster 20 has just completed a five day continuous slipform pour for Javelin Park in Gloucester. This is for a Waste to Energy Plant project for John Grahams Construction. Stephan Plisson, Readymix Technical Manager, explains: “It wasn’t always easy throughout the pour. There were many challenges including a two day motorway closure compromising the supply of raw materials, as well as the slipforming operations having to slow down or accelerate throughout time (a total of four concrete mixes were used to accommodate these changes).

A very big thank you to all the team members involved, particularly Andy Hoskins’s team and all the drivers, a lot of them having to dedicate their weekend and time for this pour. A tremendous job! There is now a new ‘tower’ which can be seen from the motorway, as the photo shows.”
