The first load was produced at of our new Newcastle plant at Brunswick Industrial Estate on Wednesday of last week. This was part of the commissioning process and was used on site.
The plant has been installed as a result of the closure of our city centre plant in Newcastle. The lease ran out on this site in Q1 2019 and it was decided that the best alternative for the business would be to demolish and replace the plant at Brunswick (six radial miles from Newcastle City). This new plant is capable of producing standard concrete at up to 70m3 per hour with a facility for collect concrete and dry screed. Future plans are to supply a flowing screed and self-compacting concrete once the plant has been certified by QSRMC which is planned to take place on Monday 12th August 2019.
This modern plant will be able to serve customers working in the Newcastle market and surrounding areas with support from our existing Crawcrook and Bedlington plants.
Well done to all involved!!
