Last week saw the completion of the Selby Bypass for customer, NYCC. The scheme involved the planing out and relaying 30,000t of Asphalt.

We used not only our Selby Asphalt Plant but also used back up supply from Leyburn, Stourton and Dove Holes to lay over 1,000t of base and binder at night, and up to 800t of HRA with pre coated chippings. The team used multiple units for supply to maintain the contract programme and to ensure that the bypass opened up on time, after being closed for nine weeks, to minimise disruption to the public.

A huge well done to the team for delivering a fantastic project on time and giving the customer a superior experience.
