Leyburn recently supplied rock armour to a riverbank reinforcement project – this project in Swaledale aimed to rescue a disused Smelt Mill at risk of collapse due to last years’ flooding.

Joseph Cage commented: “We had to work closely with the customer to ensure loading operations were done in a safe and timely manner in order to get the most vulnerable section of the bank protected before water levels became too high. Luckily this section of work was finished before storm Ciara and Dennis hit, protecting the building until further works can be finished.”
