One of Alan O’Connor’s customers, who he has been trying to steal from a competitor, finally gave in and placed an order for approx 400t of which 100t of binder was supposed to come out of Halkyn then the trucks return to Ellesmere Port for another 100t.

On the day Halkyn Plant broke down Ellesmere Port were informed at 6.30am and started mixing the first load – the trucks from Halkyn were then sent in to cover the rest. The first load arrived on time at 8am and then the rest followed as the customer had requested – Liverpool also helped out with 40t. The following day Ellesmere sent 190t of 10mm SMA and the customer said the job couldn’t have gone any better with the trucks arriving just as he wanted. He reduced his last load of binder and SMA and used every last bit and commented that the service and material were fantastic and being kept informed helped him so much.
