Last week our Readymix Plant at CEMEX Berkswell produced 4½ times its daily budgeted amount of concrete for two days running to supply a couple of Konfloor slabs at Meriden Biomass Facility!
Matt Doran, Sales Rep, commented: “This was especially pleasing given that CEMEX, Breedon and Tarmac were all less than a mile from the job – so it was a very competitive market. At the point of negotiating the sale with Kevin
O’ Reilly back in April, we were also shown a copy of the Tarmac quotation which was cheaper than our proposition.
However, given that we had already been supplying the groundworks on the same project to Hennigan Building & CE Ltd, we argued that value is down to so much more than price. The time saved in having drivers and staff who were already very familiar with the busy goings-on of the site were worth so much more.
As always this could not have been done without great team work and collaboration. Special thanks should go to Gordon Mcdade for stopping late both nights to batch and whose many years experience proved invaluable. Thanks also to Relief Plant Supervisor, Damian Keogh; Team Leader, Andrew Parkes; Planner, Courtney Winter; Regional Credit Manager, John Marriott and Stuart Wood and Andrew Barber for ensuring a reliable and steady supply of aggregates on both days.”
