Deephams STW is one of the largest sewage treatment works in the country and is located in Edmonton north London.
As part of the £177m improvement scheme CEMEX London has secured 27,000m3 of concrete towards this upgrade.
We have supplied a 900m3. This is the first of two pours this size per week for most of the remains of 2015. Weeks of preparation have gone into getting these pours right with meetings and teleconferences being held with our suppliers, shippers, technical and operations as well as with our colleagues in Cluster 15.
Co-ordination by Dennis Hennessy and his Shipping Team has meant that the pour, which started at 5am, is now awaiting a plus load. Concrete has been supplied from Edmonton, Wembley, Canning Town and Waltham Cross.
Two concrete pumps were used with 21 truckmixers starting the pour and this was reduced to 14 later in morning. Thank you to the Team at Waltham Cross as your support was invaluable.
Paul Wilshire, Head of Sales for RMX London, commented: “All staff and drivers have worked really well together ensuring that Samuel Tozer has not had any service issues to deal with on site, which is where he had been most of the grey day. Well done and a big thank you to all, without Team work this pour would not have been such a success.”
