Congratulations to John Parkyn (pictured right) who reached a magnificent 45 years service on the 4th October.

John started working for Rugby Cement in 1971 as Dispatch Planner at Southam Works where he stayed for 10 years.  He transferred to the Midland Area Division (MAD) based at Rugby for a further 2 years, before becoming Depot Supervisor at Gloucester Bristol and Sharpness Depots.

John progressed to Sales Manager at Gloucester where he remained for a further 5 years. John eventually returned home to Southam where he became Assistant Manager in the Shipping and Dispatch office. John’s final move was to the Cement Logistics Dispatch office in Rugby where he remains today as Dispatch Controller.

John hopes to retire next year, however, Gary Burgess, Area Logistics Manager (pic left) says: “That’s what he thinks, he’s going nowhere.”
