The mess room roof at Boston Plant had been leaking for a while and a cheap fix was to fit a tarpaulin sheet over whilst we received quotes for the repair. 

Gavin Herrick from Boston RMX explains:  “Several quotes ranging from £1,200 – £1,500 were received to fix it.  We had previously had a new roof at Peterborough Plant which I had watched them complete.  I got the team together, including the company fitter, and suggested that if CEMEX bought the metal cladding then we could do the fitting of the roof.

Our team was united with the idea and Neville Hebblewhite, (EB) Company Fitter, agreed he would lead the team as he had the expertise.  The quote for the cladding came in at just under £500 so we got a new roof and saved some money too!”
