The UK will soon be becoming part of a CEMEX global project – cloud transformation.
What is Cloud Technology?
You might have heard about cloud technology: Azure, Google, AWS and so on. To put it simply, it’s a technology that allows data to be broken up into little pieces and stored on different servers around the world. That way, even if something happens to the server, the data won’t be lost.
In our case, the European SAP system (SRP) is based on Azure Cloud using servers in Europe. The cloud has a number of other advantages and benefits:
- The possibility to have one CEMEX Europe SAP & database
- The level of our systems and data security will increase
- We will have more space and opportunity to integrate new applications and technologies
- The system will work faster
What is the plan and where we are now?
- We are in the process of working closely with some of your colleagues and managers in order to make a GAP analysis. This helps us to optimise processes and make the transformation simple.
- After this, we are going to test the new system. Some of your colleagues will support these tests.
- Then, we are going to have learning sessions to prepare all of you for the changes.
- We will start to operate in the Cloud from 1st of April 2022 and we will continue to provide support after migration.
