Congestion In Rugby Town Centre Due To Road Closures

Those working in Rugby will be aware of the recent significant traffic congestion in the town at peak travel times. This is due to a gas main fracture which has closed Lawford Road between the Cement Plant and CEMEX House office.

Warwick Highways have been contacted who explained that investment in Rugby Town in new housing, retail developments and infrastructure in advance of HS2 are all likely to cause disruption to traffic flow in the short and medium term. There is a further planned closure by Severn Trent in Lawford Road to improve its infrastructure.

Those working at or visiting the CEMEX locations in Rugby may need to allow more time for travel in peak hours, and check for alternative routes to avoid Lawford Road in the short term.
