Congratulations on Mark’s 40 Years Long Service

Congratulations to Mark Grimshaw-Smith, UK Rail and Sea Manager, as he celebrates his 40 years long service with our company on 5th September.

Mark joined Rugby Cement in 1983, spending the first period of his career in a variety of Transport and Distribution roles across the Cement business.

He was asked to lead an IKT project at the end of the 1990s specifically to ensure our systems weren’t disrupted by the Year 2000 and the Millenium bug. Having navigated this successfully he then spent the next few years working on several IT systems including the introduction of the SAP Order Fulfilment tool he was then asked to lead the Rail operation in Aggregates and has been instrumental in the growth of Rail in Cemex UK, the introduction of many new depots supporting the business requirements. Throughout Mark has maintained a focus on Health & Safety, customer service and is a respected member of the rail freight industry actively participating in rail forums on behalf of Cemex.

Dave Hart, Supply Chain Director, sent the following message to Mark: “I would personally like to thank Mark for his hard work, dedication and commitment to our company over the years. 40 years is an incredible achievement, and we wish you all the best in the years to come.

We know that you will continue to be a valuable member of Cemex’s Supply Chain team. Thank you and many congratulations on achieving this special milestone!”
