Deepest Sympathy…..

As you may be aware Keith Lacey, Logistics Driver Development Officer, sadly passed away this week.

His career spanned over 40 years working with the company starting as a Cement Driver for Rugby Cement in 1970s, being the Union Representative for a number of years, moving to an independent haulier role in the late 1980s and then working for TNT and CEMEX UK completing 15 years service last year.

He had been in the role of Driver Development Officer for some 18 years training countless young and developing drivers some of whom have known Keith all their working lives.  Keith was a kind, generous and gentle man and was universally liked and respected by all.  His training and development of drivers has been fundamental in the evolution of the high standards of safety, fuel efficiency and road craft we see in our operations today.

Keith was diagnosed with prostate cancer 12 months ago and fought bravely having difficult treatments but always remained himself and remained in contact, asking about the company and the people who worked here.

He passed away at home on the 24th with his wife Pat and his son Paul at his side.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues at this sad time.
