Since that fateful night of 5th December 2013 when the Humber tidal surge hit the area, South Ferriby Cement Plant employees have been working out of temporary accommodation, i.e. portacabins.
It is good to be able to report that CEMEX and the insurers have now finally agreed the costs for new permanent accommodation to be built; the building will be a multi-purpose unit housing all employees which will include a central control room, laboratory, mess-room/changing facilities and office accommodation.
Demolition of the garage will commence shortly in preparation for the new building work to start and planning permission is being prepared.
Updates and photographs will follow as this important phase of South Ferriby’s refurbishment gets underway.
