In its 100th year, the Institute of Quarrying carried on its celebrations at its Annual Conference, launch of a book “Inspiring for Generations” and the installation of the Quarry Garden at the National Memorial Arboretum in Burton on Trent. CEMEX UK was well represented at all three events.

At its Annual Conference David Hakes, one of the engineering team, took part in a panel discussion talking about how the industry could attract and retain young people. Scott Saunders, AQM East Leake Quarry, is featured in the book highlighting how the industry is attracting new talent and Liz Young, Communications, attended the installation of the Garden.
