Well done to James Sykes, Plant Manager York Readymix, for winning the January 2021 Thanks For Your Effort Award for going above and beyond to get the plant ready in below freezing temperatures.

The temperature had been forecast for -4 overnight in York, this would generally delay any start to the morning for our concrete plants although not for our plant in York. James went the extra mile under his own motivation to start work at 4.30am, which was three hours before his usual start time, to prep the plant safety. Not only did he get the plant up and running but managed to give one of our best customers amazing service throughout the day.
