Mike Wellsbury – retired but not out!!

It is with great pleasure that we have had the opportunity to thank Mike Wellsbury for his 46 years service.Mike retired on, Friday 29th April and Paul Cheesman, Ops Manager for RMX Northern, officially thanked him last week.  “Mike started with us in 1969 and after a brief break in service resumed back with us in 1974 and has retired today after notching up 42 years and 1 month in his second stint.

Mike thoroughly deserves to enjoy his retirement after his full and continued commitment to the cause throughout his employment. Mike has decided that full retirement is a bit too soon and so he’s secured himself a paper round to keep himself entertained. However it’s not the end of the Wellsbury legacy at CEMEX, his son Gary is filling his Dad’s boots and takes over his position at Liverpool plant (as well as taking over his Dad’s car too!)”

Mike is pictured (centre) receiving some B&Q vouchers on behalf of CEMEX locally, plus other gifts from his colleagues and the IHC’s at Liverpool.

In the photo the team say farewell, from left to right – Billy Tyrer (IHC), Lenny Dobson (Plant Supervisor), Karl Wall (Ops Team Leader), Carl Buckley (IHC), Mike Wellsbury, Paul Cheeseman (Operations Manager), Steve Watson (IHC Driver), Kevin Barlow (Ops Team Leader), Gary Wellsbury (Relief Supervisor).

A huge thank you to your contribution over the years and sincerest best wishes to Mike from all of Cluster 6 and CEMEX UK. Enjoy your Retirement.
