We know that we have some great people working with us at CEMEX but every so often it’s worth giving someone a special mention.  John Beard, Stourton Asphalt Plant Manager, would like to thank Steve Smith at Stourton for his help.

John takes up the story: “We were a bit short staffed last week due to annual leave and honeymoons but were still well covered – that is until Steve Haigh unfortunately broke a bone in his leg (not work related!!) which put him out of action. Steve Smith was on holiday at his beloved caravan on the East Coast. Upon hearing about our Steve H’s plight, he without hesitation offered to cut short his holiday and come to work. This meant continued production and also covered mixing operations over a weekend.

This isn’t the first time by any means that Steve has gone above and beyond and is another example of the great commitment the staff have here at Stourton. ‘Enthusiasm, Attitude and Pride’. Thanks, Steve.”
