On Wednesday 31st July members of the Aggregate Division in Scotland took part in a lend-a-hand day at Doune Ponds in the village of Doune in Perthshire.
Tasks that were carried out included painting fences and walkways, and removing a pontoon from the pond.
Alistair Kerr, Quarry Manager at Loanleven quarry, said: “It was a very enjoyable day and everyone enjoyed themselves. Doune Ponds was once a working quarry which closed in 1973 and now has been turned into a wonderful nature reserve. In fact, it was the first quarry I worked in when I started my career in quarrying 46 years ago!”
