Congratulations to everyone across Cemex UK who took part in the annual Quarry Spin-Off challenge at Dove Holes quarry, raising an incredible £1,932.94 for Blyth House Hospice and supporting vital local hospice care.

The initiative, inspired and organised by Donna Woolliscroft from Dove Holes, brought together colleagues from Cemex, alongside teams from Tarmac, for a 12-hour charity spin challenge.

Throughout the day 55 Cemex employees and contractors kept five exercise bikes moving continuously for 12 hours, covering an impressive 1,359.274 km between them. Special congratulations go to David Hakes, who was our top rider after cycling an outstanding 32.407 km – well done David!

A huge thank you goes to Donna Woolliscroft for inspiring and organising another hugely successful event. Thanks also to Cemex’s Rick Hughes for stepping in to oversee the event on the day, and to Concept for generously providing the exercise bikes free of charge. We also extend our thanks to NSS for supplying the event T-shirts, to Town and Country, High Peak Comps and our other suppliers for their generous raffle prize donations, as well as everyone who helped collect, transport and return the bikes.

It was a fantastic example of teamwork, community spirit and friendly competition, all in support of a great local cause.
