Sean Cassidy, Regional Environmental Manager, gave an interesting update on the climate change UN Conference last month. Perhaps surprisingly the delegates from the USA and China were instrumental in pushing through the agreement to implement national actions plans as defined by the Paris Climate Change Agreement. They have also agreed funding packages to help developing countries adapt or mitigate climate change.
The Paris Climate Change Agreement comes into force in 2020 so the pressure to reduce GHG emissions will intensify in the years ahead.
