CLOCS Holds Its 5th Conference And Exhibition

Construction Logistics and Cyclist Safety, funded by Transport for London, held its fifth conference and exhibition in London last week attended by over 650 delegates from not only the construction industry but logistics, vehicle manufacturers and vulnerable road users groups.  Colleagues from the CEMEX Logistics Team attended the day and on display was one of our new DAF vehicles with a Vision Window, another aid to help drivers see cyclists.

The conference included speakers such as Mike Brown, MVO London Transport Commissioner and Suzannah Nicol MBE, CEO Build UK, who reviewed the progress and success of the CLOCS programme, now in its third year.

One of the CEMEX colleagues attending the CLOCS event was Carl Milton, Northern Regional Logistics Manager, who commented:  “It was great to see the construction sector updated and praised on its contribution to improving vulnerable road user safety not just in the capital but across the UK. CEMEX continues to be a leader in the industry for road safety and has contributed to the working groups since the inception of CLOCS programme nearly 3 years ago. The challenge to the vehicle manufacturers and the industry to have safer designed trucks and drivers continues with a clear mandate from the new London Traffic Commissioner – Mike Brown for continued progress.”
