In April we launched our Cemex UK Giving Nature a Home competition. Across our Cemex UK sites, whether quarries, plants, wharfs, or offices, many of you have taken fantastic steps to support wildlife and biodiversity, from installing bird feeders and bug hotels to creating reptile refuges and wildflower planters. This new competition was aimed at celebrating these efforts and encouraging even more ways to give nature a home.
A big thank you to all the sites that sent in their photographs. The judging panel included Sean Cassidy, EMEA Biodiversity Manager, Carl Cornish, Senior Business Conservation Adviser RSPB, and Tina Baxter, UK Communications Adviser.
After a difficult decision, we’re now delighted to announce that we decided on two overall winners.
Congratulations to the teams at St Helens Readymix Plant and West Deeping Quarry. The judges were really impressed with the variety of nature now making their homes at these sites. Additionally, it was great to see how teams were recycling site materials into homes for nature and bird feeders.
The winning teams will be receiving some sacks of RSPB Bird feeds and pollinator flower seeds to support their Homes for Nature.

We hope you enjoy looking through the photos and take some inspiration for your own sites!
