Great Biodiversity At Denge

Sean Cassidy, Regional Environmental Manager, recently had a great visit to Denge Quarry.  He was shown around by David Mccauley, AQM.

Sean commented: “It was a great day and really good to see such high-quality restoration work. We were starting the process of implementing a Biodiversity Action Plan and got off to a good start spotting several red listed bird species.

The dig has left a large water body which now includes four islands that have been restored to help nesting birds. Also, a great testament to our collaboration with the RSPB who run the nearby Dungeness National Nature Reserve – a restored RMC Quarry. The RSPB help CEMEX by clearing scrub from the Islands.”
