Earlier this week Andlyn White (CSR Manager) had the pleasure of accompanying Groundwork East and Onslow Saint Audrey’s Secondary School to Hatfield quarry, for the CEMEX sponsored Hatfield School Education project.

The project consists of a total of four workshops per school with the aim of enabling students to learn about quarrying in their local area through classroom learning, a visit to Hatfield quarry and Amwell Nature Reserve.

Andlyn commented: “These visits give a great insight in understanding the lifecycle of quarrying and I was pleased to see enthusiastic young pupils excited about what we do!  This is a great project as it helps to support the next generation into our industry as well as engages with the younger residents in our local communities.”
