Hydrogen and Carbon Capture Summit

Our Cemex Public Affairs team recently attended the 5th UK CCUS & Hydrogen Decarbonisation Summit in Leeds. The three-day conference assessed and reviewed the opportunities within the UK Energy Sector to consider how hydrogen can help the UK develop its own green energy source. It also considered how carbon capture storage and utilisation can decarbonise energy intensive sectors such as cement, while producing a carbon circular economy.

The particular focus on the projects and innovation around carbon capture and storage (CCS) and carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) within industrial operations and how hydrogen can decarbonise industry and transport was valuable to hear.

This was important for Cemex to continue to develop policy plans in regard to this. The summit brought together 750+ government officials, regulators, key industry stake holders, leading academia, and other company representatives.
