Rugby Office Supports Hope4

Thanks to the generous contributions of CEMEX employees over £100 has been raised by a raffle for Hope4, the charity that aims to relieve poverty among homeless and badly housed people in Rugby and works to prevent homelessness. Prizes included festive fizz, sherry and a £20 M&S voucher.

However, we would like to encourage people to do more…

We’re asking for presents to give to those unfortunate enough to be without homes this Christmas. Some of them don’t even have warm clothes to get them through the night. This is where you come in….

The request is for new, unused clothing (coats, joggers, scarves, hats, gloves, jumpers etc.) that can be gift wrapped and presented to those in need at Christmas.  Not only will they be extremely grateful, you may also help them survive the coldest nights.

There is also a huge need for men’s underwear and also toiletries for both men and women – sanitary products for the ladies and male grooming products for the men.  It may seem silly, but sometimes it’s the little things that can help them through the day.

We’d also like to provide a mixed food hamper, so if you can spare an extra can of beans or bag of rice (anything that doesn’t need to be stored in a fridge/freezer and won’t go off quickly i.e. bags of nuts, cans of drink etc.), please also bring this in. The Foodbank have posted on their site they are running low on the following:

  • Coffee
  • Hot chocolate
  • Instant noodles
  • Tinned peas
  • Tinned snack meals
  • Bread sauce

Also, if you have any unused gifts that are otherwise just sat at home, or you have any other ideas on what to gift to make someone Christmas a little better, please also bring these in.

There is a crate in the reception at Rugby HQ for people to place all the goodies.  Or if you aren’t going to be in the Rugby office you could post any contributions to Sarah Murphy at CEMEX House, Evreux Way, Rugby, Warwickshire, CV21 2DT.
